Joe Moores named in England U19 squad for second Youth Test
Lancashire Cricket’s Joe Moores has been added to England Men U19s squad for the second Youth Test against South Africa Men U19s.
He is one of two players to be called up to the squad for the second Youth Test, alongside Jack Auld of Essex.
Moores has enjoyed a successful period in the first team at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, making his professional first-class and T20 debuts this season under Steven Croft.
The 17-year-old has already hit two half-centuries for the Red Rose in 2026, one in each format. Those include 57 in the County Championship against Derbyshire and 55 against Leicestershire Foxes in the Vitality Blast.
This is the first England U19s recognition for Moores since he played in the U19s World Cup over the winter. He scored 170 runs for an England side that were beaten in the final by India.

Moores joins Lancs teammate Rocky Flintoff in the England U19s squad for the second Youth Test. Flintoff impressed with the bat, hitting 63 in the first innings, a game which South Africa won by 45 runs.
The second Youth Test second Youth Test will be played at Hove, starting on Friday 17 July.
