Keaton Jennings returns as squad named to face Gloucestershire

Head Coach Steven Croft has named a 15-man squad for Lancashire’s trip to Gloucestershire in the Rothesay County Championship, which begins on Friday at the Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol.

Opening batter Keaton Jennings returns to the matchday squad for the first time this season after missing the opening two rounds through injury. In last season’s County Championship, Jennings scored 1,054 runs at an average of 42, including two centuries and five half-centuries at the top of the order.

Spin-bowling all-rounder Arav Shetty is also included after scoring an impressive 139 for Lancashire’s Second XI against Leicestershire at Grace Road on Wednesday. Shetty made his first-class debut against Middlesex at Emirates Old Trafford last September, taking one wicket. He also claimed nine wickets in last summer’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup and averaged 33 with the bat across seven appearances.

Australian batter Marcus Harris marked his return to Lancashire with scores of 125 and 66 in the win over Derbyshire at Emirates Old Trafford in the last round of matches. He returns to his former county Gloucestershire, where he spent two seasons in 2022 and 2023.

Tom Aspinwall and Jack Blatherwick are unavailable due to injury and continue their rehabilitation with the club’s medical staff.

Gloucestershire have started the season with back-to-back innings defeats against Middlesex and Durham, while Lancashire sit second in Division Two following a win and a draw. Read more in our match preview by clicking below.
