Lancashire Cricket gifts Junior Memberships to County Age-Group and Academy players
Lancashire Cricket is gifting free Junior Memberships to every County Age-Group and Academy player, benefiting more than 150 young cricketers across the Under-13 to Under-18 age groups.
The initiative reflects the Club's commitment to ensuring that every young player who represents Lancashire, at any age-group level, feels like a valued member of the Red Rose family.
Lancashire's Director of Cricket Performance, Mark Chilton, said: "One of my greatest passions is seeing Lancashire develop its own players - it's one of the true purposes of county cricket and a tradition this Club holds very dear.
"When a young cricketer comes through our system and goes on to represent the first team, it means something special - not just to them and their family, but to everyone connected with the Club.
"The strength of our pathway is something I'm incredibly proud of. Recently, we've seen Joe Moores make an immediate impact for Lancashire Lightning in the Vitality Blast, while Venus Weerappuli made her professional debut for Lancashire Thunder at just 16 years old. These are just two examples of players who have progressed through our age-group system over several years and are now making their mark in the first-team environment.
"This may seem like a small gesture, but we hope it means a great deal to the players and their families. They are the future of this Club."
Eligible players will be contacted directly by their lead coach with details of how to claim their membership.
