Lancashire Lightning sign Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan

Lancashire Lightning sign Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan

Lancashire Lightning is delighted to announce the signing of Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan for the remainder of the 2026 Vitality Blast
.
The 27-year-old arrives at Emirates Old Trafford as a replacement for Australian all-rounder Chris Green, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

Khan – who has featured for Sussex Sharks and Yorkshire in previous years – goes straight into the squad for Lancashire Lightning’s Vitality Blast fixture against Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road on Friday night.

One of the most experienced T20 players in world cricket, Shadab has represented Pakistan 124 times in the shortest format and has plied his trade in franchise competitions around the world.

His international T20 record underlines his quality: 1,009 runs at a strike rate of 144, allied to 123 wickets at an average of 24 and an economy rate of 7.4.

Shadab Khan said: “I am delighted to sign for Lancashire Lightning for the rest of the Vitality Blast. I love playing cricket in England and have really enjoyed my previous stints in the competition.

“Lancashire is one of the biggest clubs in the country, with so much history, and I can’t wait to pull on the shirt at Emirates Old Trafford in front of the home fans.”

Lancashire’s Director of Cricket Performance, Mark Chilton, said: “We are really pleased to secure the services of Shadab for the remainder of the Vitality Blast.

“Whilst we were all disappointed to lose Chris Green, being able to bring in a player of Shadab’s calibre and experience – particularly at such short notice – will provide the squad with a timely boost ahead of a key run of fixtures.”
