Lancashire name squad for Worcestershire clash at Southport
Head Coach Steven Croft has named a 14-man squad for Lancashire Cricket’s latest Rothesay County Championship fixture, which begins tomorrow against Worcestershire at Southport & Birkdale CC's Trafalgar Road.
The Red Rose head to the Sefton coast looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat against Middlesex at Emirates Old Trafford. Lancashire currently sit fourth in Division Two on 63 points, with the visitors in fifth on 60.
There is a first senior County Championship squad call-up for 17-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Joe Moores, while all-rounder Paul Coughlin returns to the squad after missing the Middlesex fixture with a minor injury.
Harry Singh is also back in the First Team squad after an outstanding display for the Second XI last week, scoring 172 at Northamptonshire, as part of a 346-run opening partnership with Kesh Fonseka.
Tom Aspinwall, Jack Blatherwick, Ajeet Singh Dale, Arav Shetty and Luke Wells remain unavailable due to injury.
Lancashire squad to face Worcestershire:
James Anderson (c), Tom Bailey, George Balderson, Josh Bohannon, Paul Coughlin, Chris Green, Marcus Harris, Tom Hartley, Matty Hurst, Keaton Jennings, Michael Jones, Joe Moores, Harry Singh, Mitch Stanley
