Lancashire Thunder squad named to face Surrey at the Kia Oval
Head Coach Chris Read has named a 13-player squad for Lancashire Thunder's opening game of the 2026 Vitality Blast.
Lancashire Thunder travel to London to face Surrey at the Kia Oval on Friday afternoon in the first game of the Vitality Blast, with play scheduled to get underway at 2:15.
Overseas star Meg Lanning is set to make her Lancashire debut, after linking up with the squad this week at Emirates Old Trafford.
The former Australia captain is joined in the squad by England international Kate Cross, with youngsters Darcey Carter and Grace Johnson both included. Carter is coming off the back of a brutal century for the Thunder Academy.
Lancashire will be without England stars Sophie Ecclestone, Emma Lamb and Mahika Gaur. Ecclestone is away on international duty whilst Lamb and Guar are sidelined with injury, the latter suffering from a fractured foot.
Ellie Threlkeld will continue to captain the side, and is looking to add get off to the perfect start in the quest for more T20 success, after winning the 2025 Vitality County Cup.
