Letter from Board Member, John Abrahams

Letter from Board Member, John Abrahams

Dear Member,

Having experienced five years as a board member it is apparent that the future of the club requires committed board members with the expertise to ensure that Lancashire Cricket thrives on and off the field.

With that in mind, I would like to introduce you to our three nominated board members – Paul, Carolyn and Richard.

Our Annual General Meeting (25 May) gives members the opportunity to vote for new and returning board members.

The role of the Nominations Committee is to identify suitable candidates by assessing their skills and expertise against the requirements of the roles to be filled. The Committee conducts interviews with those deemed appropriate for the role and subsequently recommends candidates who successfully progress through the interview stage to the Board for consideration, with approved candidates then being put forward for election at the AGM.

I am delighted to introduce three exceptional individuals whose expertise and experience would be an invaluable asset to the future stability and prosperity of the Club.

Paul Taylor: A lifelong Lancashire member with extensive experience in sports governance, including roles for Manchester United and the Football Association.

Carolyn Macnab: A Red Rose supporter, as part of a cricket-mad family, will bring vital safeguarding knowledge to the board and currently serves as Chief People Officer for City Football Group.

Richard Thomas: As well as considerable commercial experience for major organisations such as Network Rail, Richard is also a lifelong supporter of the Red Rose, first attending Old Trafford with his grandparents.

You can watch their message to members here:

The board believes that they will help Lancashire Cricket continue to grow while keeping cricket at the heart of the Club. Their considerable experience will be supported by Sir Clive Lloyd, who has been nominated to be our next President.

You can vote online for the board nominations here:

Online voting for the AGM closes on Saturday 23 May at 1:30pm.

If you would like to vote in person, you can join us at the AGM on Monday 25 May. Simply turn up with your membership card and you will be handed a ballot.

John Abrahams
