What a day of ups and downs, and we may have an intriguing battle ahead tomorrow if Lancashire can build on this lead in the morning.

A somewhat erratic over from Zak Chappell conceeds 4 byes as a short ball flies over wicketkeeper Brooke Guest and then Marcus Harris drives a full toss for 4 more though the covers.
The Lancashire lead has now reached three figures.

Marcus Harris has reached a vital fifty as far as Lancashire are concerned, it came from 105 balls.

Paul Coughlin is just starting to produce something of a counter attacking innings, not afraid to go for his shots and he has 20 off 24 balls.

Having reached their 50 partnership off 97 balls, Anuj Dal ends the alliance on 55 by beating Tom Hartley's defence to bowl the tall left hander for 24. Marcus Harris remains on 40 and is joined by Paul Coughlin.

Marcus Harris and Tom Hartley have managed to settle things down but Hartley then survives a huge shout for lbw sweeping. Think it pitched just outside leg stump, but not by much!

Shoaib Bashir comes into the Derbyshire attack for the first time in this innings as Harris and Hartley battle to keep the Red Rose innings afloat.

Another wicket falls! Matty Hurst inside edges Zak Chappell onto his pads with the ball trickling onto his stumps.
This is a disastrous start, and Zak Chappell is causing all sorts of problems.

Harry Singh drives the ball fiercely back to the bowler Zak Chappell who juggles the ball but catches it at the fourth attempt.
The scores are level but Lancashire have lost three of the top order.

Paul Coughlin finishes with a debut 4-79 when Luke Wells takes an easy catch at backward point off Muhammad Abbas who made 8.
Coughlin's spell was an outstanding 4.3-1-15-4.

Paul Coughlin has a third wicket in 16 balls after producing a lovely delivery that finds the edge from Luis Reece, on 32, that is taken by wicketkeeper Hurst.
Sadly the wicket arrived one over too late for a third bowling point but this has been a great passage of play for Lancs.

Paul Coughlin has his second Lancashire wicket after Ben Aitchinson wafts at a ball outside off and nicks behind for 1.

Derbyshire are closing in on Lancashire's first innings total but they have lost another wicket.
Paul Coughlin is delighted as he has his first wicket for the Red Rose after trapping Zak Chappell lbw for 11.

Anuj Dal has gone for his shots and contributed 21 at a run-a-ball but he then drove the 22nd delivery faced back to Tom Bailey who took a nice catch down by his knees off his own bowling.

The Red Rose captain angles the ball in to have Andersson playing towards the leg side but it then nips away to hit off. Fabulous delivery.

The sunny conditions that remained through this morning have been replaced by significant cloud as play gets under way on the third morning of this match and after three balls from Paul Coughlin were are off for rain!

Good morning from a sunny Emirates Old Trafford where we expect play to start on time at 11am.
We have extended playing hours today to make up for lost time yesterday with 104 overs to be bowled. Lunch is at 1.10pm, Tea 4pm, Close 6.30pm.
Derbyshire will resume on 235-5 trailing Lancashire by 116 runs.
