MATCH REPORT: No play at Southport on day two

Rain prevented any play taking place on the second day of our Rothesay County Championship match at Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club today.
The rain arrived just after ten o’clock and fell steadily throughout the morning to bring an early lunch at 12.30pm.
After a brief lull, heavier rain from just before 2pm left the umpires no choice but to abandon play for the day at 3pm.
Hopefully conditions will improve tomorrow to allow Lancashire to resume their first innings on 28-0, with Keaton Jennings (10 not out) and George Balderson (17 not out), in reply to Worcestershire’s first innings total of 270 all out.
