Mitch Stanley signs new Lancashire Cricket contract

Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that fast bowler Mitch Stanley has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground until the end of the 2028 season.

The 25-year-old has continued his impressive development since joining the Red Rose ahead of the 2024 campaign and has established himself as an important member of Lancashire's pace attack across all formats.

Stanley – who is on an ECB Development contact – has enjoyed a productive 2026 season, cementing his place in Lancashire's County Championship and Vitality Blast side. His performances have also been recognised at international level, earning further opportunities with England Lions.

The right-arm quick has taken 31 wickets in just seven Rothesay County Championship appearances, at an average of 26.12, underlining his growing influence with the red ball. His standout first-class performance came against Kent last summer, when he claimed match figures of 11-180, including 5-80 in the first innings and 6-100 in the second.

In white-ball cricket, Stanley has made 21 Vitality Blast appearances, taking 19 wickets. He produced the best figures of his T20 career in last Friday's Roses victory over Yorkshire at Emirates Old Trafford, claiming 4-30 and the Player of the Match award.

Mitch Stanley said: "I'm really pleased to sign a new contract at Lancashire. Ever since I joined the Club in 2024, I've felt this is the right place for me to develop, and I'm grateful for the faith everyone has shown in me.

"I've loved being part of the fast-bowling group. We've got a great mix of youth and experience, and being able to learn from someone like James Anderson every day is invaluable. It's a close-knit group and we all push each other to improve.

"It's been brilliant to play more red-ball cricket over the last 12 months and gain further experience with England Lions. I feel like my game has developed a lot, but there's still plenty more to come, and I'm looking forward to continuing that journey and helping Lancashire achieve success over the next two years and beyond."

Lancashire Head Coach Steven Croft added: "Having Mitch commit his future to Lancashire is a huge boost for the Club. He brings a unique skillset to our bowling attack and has already shown that he can be a genuine matchwinner.

"Bowlers with Mitch's attributes are rare. He has the ability to influence the outcome of a game, whether that's across four days or in a T20, so we're delighted to have him as part of our squad for at least another two years.

"It's been fantastic to see him play more red-ball cricket this season and the impact he's made has been clear to everyone. He's produced some outstanding performances in both the County Championship and the Vitality Blast, and we're excited to see him continue his development over the next couple of years."
