Seven players to leave Lancashire Cricket Women at the end of the season
Lancashire Women can announce that seven first-team players will be leaving the Club at the end of the 2026 season.
Kate Cross and Fi Morris will both retire at the end of their current contracts, while Seren Smale, Hannah Jones, Liv Bell, Alice Clarke and Danni Collins will all depart upon the expiration of their contracts.
Cross is one of the greatest players to represent the Red Rose. Across both the non-professional and professional eras, she has made more than 200 appearances for Lancashire, taking 244 wickets. She also made 102 appearances for England, taking 140 wickets and captaining her country in 2024.
Fellow all-rounder Morris moved to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in 2023, scoring more than 1,000 runs and taking over 50 wickets for Thunder and Lancashire. She played a pivotal role in the Club’s successes in 2025, helping Lancashire to win both the Vitality T20 County Cup and Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
Wicket-keeper Smale is another player who came through the pathway at Lancashire. She has scored more than 2,000 runs across formats for Thunder and Lancashire, with her most important knock surely her 72 in the One-Day Cup final, which helped guide Lancashire to silverware.
Left-arm spinner Jones, born and raised in Manchester, is another graduate of the Red Rose Academy. She has taken 122 wickets across all formats for the Club and claimed 14 wickets during Lancashire’s historic One-Day Cup title-winning campaign last season.
Off-spinner Bell enjoyed a standout season in 2023, when she made her senior debut for Thunder. It was a campaign that saw her take 25 wickets across formats. She is also a full international with Scotland and was part of their squad for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Accrington-born wicket-keeper Clarke also came through Lancashire’s Academy. She made her first-team debut for the Club in 2018 and opened the batting at the back end of last season’s One-Day Cup success, doing so in both the semi-final and final.
Batting all-rounder Collins, who hails from Bury, made her Lancashire debut 11 years ago at the age of 15. She has gone on to score 863 runs for the Club, with a highest score of 51, whilst also developing into a useful option with the ball.
