Lancashire Cricket announce End of Season Award winners
Lancashire Cricket can confirm the Club's End of Season Award winners following the conclusion of the 2026 campaign.
The presentation took place at the end of the men's final game of the season against Durham on Sunday.
Player of the Year
Women’s winner – Eve Jones
2026 was an outstanding year for Eve Jones. She hit 679 One Day Cup runs in the group stage, second in the run scoring charts across the whole country, with five 50s and one century in that competition. In the Blast, she scored 228 runs, topped only by Meg Lanning, with a couple of 50s in the shortest format. When skipper Ellie Threlkeld was away on England duty, Jones stood in as Thunder captain.
Men’s winner – George Balderson
Not only did George Balderson captain his boyhood county for the first time at professional level in the Metro Bank One Day Cup and in the Rothesay County Championship, but he finished as the Club’s leading wicket-taker in both formats. In red ball cricket, he took 53 wickets at an average of 21.88, including two five-wicket hauls, and picked up 15 wickets in the One-Day Cup, on the way to leading his side to the quarter-final.
Rothesay County Championship Player of the Year
Winner - Sir James Anderson
Red Rose captain Sir James Anderson spearheaded the Lancashire attack superbly in the 2026 County Championship. Anderson began the season with 5-66 against Northamptonshire and continued to build momentum from there. He picked up exactly 50 wickets, finishing with the best average amongst Red Rose players, which stood at just 17.68.
Metro Bank One Day Player of the Year
Women’s winner – Kate Cross
In her final year of professional cricket, Kate Cross finished as Lancashire’s leading wicket-taker in the One Day Cup, picking up 27 wickets at an average of 23.25. Her final game saw her take 2-54 to help beat Yorkshire, signing off in true Lancastrian style. She also hit 210 runs in the competition.
Men’s winner – Keaton Jennings
Keaton Jennings was one of the standout players in the entire One Day Cup, with only one player scoring more runs in the competition for any side. He hit 580 runs at an average of 64.44, striking two centuries including a sensational career best 156 against Somerset at Taunton. That knock was part of a superb 214-run partnership with Rocky Flintoff.
T20 Player of the Year
Women’s winner – Venus Weerappuli
In the Blast in 2026, Venus Weerappuli picked up 15 wickets at an average of just 15.26, topping the wicket-taking charts for Lancashire at the age of just 16. The leg-spinner took her career best of 3-13 in the Roses game against Yorkshire at Headingly. She also featured in the Vitality T20 County Cup, where she picked up a couple of wickets, including one against The Blaze.
Men’s winner – Liam Livingstone
Liam Livingstone hit the most runs for Lancashire in the 2026 Blast. He scored 456 at an average of 50 with a highest score of 85* to win the game for Lightning away to Durham. He hit four half-centuries, with three of them coming in as many innings, and 35 sixes, the most by a Lancashire player in a single Blast campaign. Livingstone also topped the wicket-taking charts for Lightning, taking 12 at an average of 23.
Young Player of the Year
Women’s winner – Tilly Kesteven
Tilly Kesteven became an important player for Lancashire across formats this season. She scored 397 runs in 15 games, hitting two half-centuries including 85 against Surrey at AO Farington Cricket Ground, the highest score of her professional career to date.
Men’s winner – Joe Moores
It was a breakout year for 17-year-old Joe Moores. He became an important player across formats, hitting a maiden half-century in all three forms of the game. His top score was a sensational 85 from 58 balls in the One Day Cup, helping take his 2026 total up to 424 runs in 23 innings. Moores also stood out in the field, taking several superb catches, both behind the stumps and when fielding.
