Lancashire Lightning squad named to face Surrey at the Kia Oval

Head Coach Steven Croft has named a 14-man squad for Lancashire Lightning’s opening Vitality Blast fixture of the 2026 season.

Lancashire Lightning travel to the Kia Oval on Friday evening to face Surrey in their group-stage opener, with play set to begin in the capital at 6.30pm.

New overseas signing Ben McDermott is in line to make his debut for the Club after arriving in the UK earlier this week. The 33-year-old batter is joined in the squad by fellow Australian overseas, all-rounder Chris Green.

Fast bowlers Jack Blatherwick and Saqib Mahmood are also included in the matchday squad for the first time this season after both recently returned to action for Lancashire’s Second XI.

If selected, Paul Coughlin would make his T20 debut for the Club, while youngsters Joe Moores and Harry Singh could make their professional T20 debuts.

Keaton Jennings resume captaincy duties for the Red Rose in T20 competition with red ball skipper James Anderson also included in the squad.

Jos Butter, Liam Livingstone, Phil Salt and Luke Wood are currently participating in the IPL.
