Lancashire name 13-man squad for County Championship return
Head Coach Steven Croft has named a 13-man squad to take on Northamptonshire
Lancashire Cricket return to action in the Rothesay County Championship, starting tomorrow at Emirates Old Trafford, as the red ball run-in of the final six matches begins.
Pakistan international Noman Ali has been named in the squad with the spinner set to make his debut for the Red Rose, while all-rounder Ben Walkden is also included in his first Championship squad after signing an 18-month contract with the Club earlier this month.
Lancashire are without red ball captain Sir James Anderson, who misses out due to a calf injury, and Paul Coughlin remains absent with a shoulder issue. Josh Bohannon will captain the side in Anderson's absence.
Rocky Flintoff could be set for a first County Championship appearance since September 2024, following a string of impressive performances in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, while Mitch Stanley returns from a back issue to take his place in matchday squad.
The fixture marks Emirates Old Trafford's inaugural Red Ball Celebration. The four-day celebration will combine the best of County Championship cricket with a range of activities and experiences for supporters of all ages, creating an opportunity to enjoy the game both on and off the field during the school holidays.
